The Archives and Records Department is the
official repository for materials about the origin, history, spirit and
the growth of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross and its
ministries since 1843. Special collections include the services of the sisters
in the Civil War, Spanish-American War, as well as papers delivered at the
Holy Cross History Association Conference.
It contains
records of current, deceased and former members of the Congregation, as
well as records of students from closed educational institutions sponsored
by the Congregation.
Heritage Room
The Heritage Room contains artifacts, photographs and samples
of significant documents relevant to each General Administration. It is
open during regular Archives hours.
Transcripts
The department has the permanent records of students from closed
educational institutions sponsored by the Congregation. Transcripts
are available upon written request.
Research
Telephone and mail requests for limited research are accepted. On-site
researchers are accommodated only by prior arrangement through the
director of Archives. Most records are open for research, however some
administrative records are restricted. Credit must be given for materials
used in publications. A fee may be charged for extensive research.
